Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Upright Vacuum

The Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Upright Vacuums have me sold on their varying features. Check it out and see if you think one of them could be just the right vacuum for you too.

I've gotta get this off my chest. I almost Hate the vacuum that we currently use in my household. It's not the worst vacuum we have had, and it is actually better than the previous one we had (which would build up so much static electricity as you vacuumed that you frequently got zapped as you cleaned the floor with it). But it's bad enough that I'd like to have it replaced with another. That's where the Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Upright Vacuum comes in.

Why is it called a "Rewind"? (Kinda a strange name for a vacuum, I think. Of course, there is also a vacuum called the Shark, was is even stranger.) Apparently the WindTunnel T-Series Rewind vacuum by Hoover is called the "Rewind" is because it has a cord that automatically rewinds itself when you're done using it...which is a kind of a neat feature! Although having to manually unwrap and wrap up a vacuum cord before and after using a vacuum isn't exactly hard, it would be nice to not have to do that.

But although that is what gives this series of vacuum models their name, I'd have to say I think that's the least important part of a vacuum. Is that the only thing going for it?

Well, thankfully it seems like it has a lot of things that you really do want in a vacuum. Such as being lightweight, while still having great cleaning power and minimal maintenance.

There are three models in this series that I looked at. One that is just called Rewind, another that is called Rewind Plus and one more that is the Pet Rewind Plus. I've mostly covered the one simply called Rewind, partly because of the slightly lower price, but also because it had tons more reviews on it at Amazon.com. I hope my research into this vacuum will be useful to you.

The people at Vacuum Wizard have put together this very useful review of the Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind UH70120. It shows some of the pros and cons, and even shows you what the decibel levels are (in other words, how loud the vacuum is), another tool to measure how many particles escape (wow) and another tool that shows the suction power.

One of the things I noticed about this vacuum was the "clear window" showing the rotating brush. I have long, curly hair and it sheds everywhere. If I flip my vacuum over I will inevitably see these strands wrapped around the brush...but it usually doesn't occur to be me to check out how badly the brush is tangled up until I start noticing poor performance from the vacuum. So for me this "clear window" feature is a plus.

Another thing I was impressed by was how easy it seemed to clean the filters. The bagless vacuum cleaner we have used in my household seems to do a pretty good job at picking up dirt, pet and human hair, and many other things. But it has several filters. And it seems like I am frequently cleaning them. And it is very messy when I do.

So the ease of cleaning just two filters, as shown in one of the videos I've embedded here, really appealed to me. And there is an indicator that lets you know when the filter needs to be cleaned. So no guessing on your part.
